El extracto de cannabis ha demostrado ser efectivo en la lucha contra el cáncer de piel (melanoma)

We evolve alongside our community, and as you may have noticed, we've updated some information in the strain descriptions, introducing a new yield calculation method – the expert version.

The "expert version" is more accurate and convenient, especially if you use modern equipment. In this blog, we’ll explain why.

Since cannabis legalization, especially on the technical side, has come a long way. While old-school growers used HPS lamps, most now prefer high-efficiency LED lights for several reasons.
What are the disadvantages of HPS and the advantages of LED?

Energy consumption

HPS consumes a lot, especially 600W and above. With LEDs, you save due to longevity, low consumption, and no need for additional equipment (cooling ventilation, cooltube, ballast, igniter).

Light spectrum

LEDs provide adjustable spectrums for different plant stages, promoting vigorous vegetative growth and abundant flowering.

Temperature and distance from the plant

HPS lamps reach high temperatures, up to 400 degrees inside. This requires maintaining a large distance from the leaves.

LEDs generate less heat, allowing you to convert a tall greenhouse into a vertical one.

Lamp lifespan

HPS lamps have an "aging" effect, with efficiency dropping by 30% in just a year. LEDs maintain steady performance.

Installation and space

HPS requires more installation time. LEDs are simpler, occupying less space.

Noise

HPS is noisier due to additional ventilation. LEDs have quieter built-in cooling fans.

The LED choice is clear, proving its popularity.

The key to choosing lighting is how many grams of buds you want per plant:
•    25–50 grams per plant = 50 W per plant
•    50–100 grams per plant = 100 W per plant
•    100 grams or more = 150 W or more per plant

Most growers cultivate 1 to 6 plants. Growing a single plant poses a risk – if something happens, you have no backup.

In summary, a powerful light (at least 600W) is required for a bountiful harvest.

We use Lumatec lamps ranging from 600 to 720W, perfect for 1.5 m². Modern grow tents are proportionate to the number of lamps:
•    60x60 cm — up to 150W
•    100x100 cm — up to 400W
•    150x150 cm — from 600W to 1000W with cooling

It’s now more relevant to calculate yield on 1.5 m², so we’ve updated the strain descriptions.

The 1 m² option remains, but use the expert version with modern LED lights.
